Music Choice has announced changes to their channel lineup effective February 1, 2024.
According to Music Choice, “the updates to the Music Choice lineup do not involve the reordering of any channels; however, the adjustments will include both channel format and channel name changes. These changes will ensure that the Music Choice offering is aligned with the needs of our existing and future consumers based on current music trends and listening habits. We remain committed to providing a robust, curated music experience designed to satisfy all our listeners.”
Below is a summary of the upcoming changes to the lineup:
Channel Format Changes
- The Music Choice Indie channel will be replaced with:
- Music Choice ‘60s (TV-PG)
Description: Groove all day to music that ranges from doo-wop and rockabilly to Motown and the British Invasion. Artists include: Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Supremes, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin.
- The Music Choice Metal channel will be replaced with:
- Music Choice Yacht Rock (TV-14)
Description: Feel the vacation vibes with a light mix of soft rock, pop rock, R&B, and smooth jazz from the ’70s and ‘80s. Artists include: Christopher Cross, Hall & Oates, George Benson, Carly Simon, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers.
- The Music Choice Musica Urbana channel will be replaced with:
- Music Choice Relaxing Vibes (TV-G)
Description: Chill out with this blend of ambient songs made for unwinding. Artists include: Hammock, Marconi Union, Max Richter, Ólafur Arnalds, Kitaro, R. Carlos Nakai.
Update to Existing Channel Names
Music Choice Dance/EDM will be renamed Music Choice Dance
Music Choice Teen Beats will be renamed Music Choice Teen Hits
We want to note that each channel being removed from our main 50-channel lineup will continue to be available in the Music Choice TV and mobile app.
