Frontier repaired its fiber cable in Pendleton County as of 8:10 a.m. Friday, April 19, meaning that full telephone service for Hardy Telecommunications and other providers should now be restored and calls into and out of the area should complete normally. The problem began Wednesday evening, when a Frontier fiber connection in the Oak Flat area of Pendleton County quit working. That route is used for many of the landline and cellular telephone calls entering and leaving the area. A tree fell on an electric power line, and that line then came into contact with Frontier’s fiber cable, burning through it. Frontier located the actual trouble spot on Thursday afternoon, and crews worked throughout the night to repair it. As of 8:10 a.m. Friday, the fiber connection was restored. We appreciate everyone’s patience while Frontier worked to repair their fiber cable and apologize for the inconvenience.
