Alas, not even Instagram is safe from hackers, fraudsters, and ne’er-do-wells, based on reports. According to cybersecurity research firm Malwarebytes, about 17.5 million Instagram accounts were attacked and their personal data tracked to listings on the dark web. Instagram reportedly is denying the breach, blaming a bug that allowed an external party to trigger password reset emails, adding that the bug has been fixed and all accounts are secure.
