Yet another scam email is circulating that claims to be from HardyNet but is, in fact, almost certainly an attempt to install malware on your device or obtain personal financial information. The email claims that “ADP was granted access to your Email account.” Several parts of the email show that it is a scam.
First, even though the From title lists hardynet.com as the sender, checking the actual email address shows you that it is from a completely different domain: support@ansleep.com.
The email asks you to click a link immediately if you did not grant access – you should always be suspicious of emails that urge you to take quick action. If you place your mouse – but DON’T CLICK – over the link (labeled “Secure Account”), you’ll see that it leads a website that is not HardyNet.
Below is a snippet of the fake email with no active links, demonstrating how the scammers try to trick you into acting without thinking first:
“hardynet.com
ADP was granted access to your Email account
(your hardynet.com email)
If you did not grant access, you should check this activity and secure your account immediately.
(link labeled “Secure Account”)
You can also see security activity.”
If you receive such an email, please ignore and delete it. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS OR REPLY TO THE EMAIL.
