Hardy Telecommunications is a Signature Sponsor of the 2021 Relay for Life of the Potomac Valley.
Hardy Assistant General Manager Derek Barr presented a $250 check to Relay for Life representatives Rose Mullins and Marlo Curran at Hardy’s Moorefield office on July 23. The monetary amount denotes a Signature Level sponsorship of the event.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the Relay for Life of the Potomac Valley event last year.
“We are excited to again have the opportunity to sponsor this important event,” Derek said. “Relay for Life not only raises critical funds for the fight against cancer, but it’s also a time to pay tribute to those who have succumbed to this disease and celebrate those who are battling back against it.”
The Relay for Life event includes activities designed to promote cancer awareness and prevention, with teams taking turns walking together around a track. The night is highlighted by the cancer survivors’ and caregivers’ walk and the luminaria ceremony, when candles are lit inside personalized bags to honor and support those who have fought or are fighting the disease. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
