Hardy Telecommunications recently donated $500 to East Hardy High School to help with the costs of buying student/faculty planners for the 2018-19 school year. Hardy has helped the school to cover the costs of providing the planners for more than a decade.
Derek Barr, Hardy director of customer service and sales, marketing and human resources, gave the $500 check to EHHS Principal Jennifer Strawderman. Derek said the company values its position as a business partner with the school, and the planners are an important resource for both students and faculty.
“Teachers make countless sacrifices for their students, whether it’s putting in extra time or even buying supplies,” he said. “The planners are a benefit to everyone at the school, so we’re proud to help make them available at no cost to students.”
The planners are distributed at the beginning of the year and contain information about school standards of conduct and graduation requirements and also serve as the students’ handbooks. The planners are given to the students free of charge.
Mrs. Strawderman said she appreciates all that Hardy Telecommunications does for the school.
“Hardy consistently comes through when we need assistance, not just financially, but with technical expertise and participation in various school activities. We rely heavily on them and their commitment to East Hardy students,” she said.
