Scam Email Claims Hardy Billing Information Needs To Be Verified

Another scam email is circulating that claims to be from Hardy Telecommunications but is, in fact, almost certainly an attempt to install malware on your device or obtain personal financial information. The email claims that Hardy Tel is unable to verify billing information and asks the recipient to click a link to confirm account information. It even includes a Hardy Tel logo. But this email is NOT from Hardy Telecommunications. Several parts of the email show that it is a scam.

First, even though the From title lists Hardy Telecommunications as the sender, checking the actual email address shows you that it is from a completely different domain: dataprotecti0inonsecure0center0@homesc.com.

The email asks you to click a link immediately if you did not grant access – you should always be suspicious of emails that urge you to take quick action. If you place your mouse – but DON’T CLICK – over the link (labeled “Confirm your account”), you’ll see that it leads to a website that is not Hardy-related.

Below is a snippet of the fake email with no active links, demonstrating how the scammers try to trick you into acting without thinking first:

“Hello ——-,

We were unable to verify your Hardy Telecommunications billing information, our records currently show that some details on your account appears to be missing or incorrect.
Simply click the link below to confirm your Hardy Telecommunications account information through our secure gateway access below and make sure everything is correct.
(‘Confirm your account’ link that leads to different website)”
If you receive such an email, please ignore and delete it. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS OR REPLY TO THE EMAIL.
